When initially switching to natural shampoo bars, users may notice a difference in their hair, often described as a residual feeling. This phenomenon is typically not due to hard water but rather to the interaction of the shampoo bar with the buildup from previous hair care products. The transition period to adapt to natural shampoo bars can vary from a few days to up to a month. During this phase, the hair undergoes a detoxifying process, gradually leading to hair that feels cleaner, brighter, softer, and more manageable. The key to this transformation is the unique formulation of these bars, which cleanses and conditions the hair and scalp without stripping away natural oils.
The surge in popularity of shampoo bars in recent years has sparked discussions about the efficacy and safety of using soap-based products on hair. It is crucial to differentiate between conventional soaps and specially formulated natural shampoo bars. Using a product not explicitly designed for hair care can indeed strip the hair of its natural oils and lead to adverse effects. However, our shampoo bars are meticulously crafted with gentle, nourishing, and conditioning ingredients suitable for hair, face, hands, and body, ensuring a holistic approach to personal care.
Our natural shampoo bars are enriched with rejuvenating and moisturizing ingredients that work synergistically to protect, nourish, and restore health to the skin, hair, and scalp. Many customers have reported significant improvements in scalp health, attributing these benefits to the elimination of harsh chemicals found in traditional hair care products.
In addition to using natural shampoo bars, incorporating an acidic rinse into your haircare routine can further enhance the health of your hair, skin, and scalp by quickly restoring their natural pH levels. This practice supports the body's inherent healing processes, safeguarding against the damaging effects of chemical-laden products and fostering optimal cell function.
Natural shampoo bars offer a viable solution for those seeking to overcome chronic hair issues and achieve long-lasting health and vitality for their hair. By embracing this gentle, chemical-free approach to hair care, individuals can experience the joy of revitalized hair, one wash at a time, while also contributing to a healthier environment.
Embrace the journey towards healthier hair with our natural shampoo bars and discover the benefits of integrating good, clean soap into your hair care regimen.
It's time to love your hair, one bar at a time! Use the good soap on your head too!
If you're new to the concept of using a solid shampoo bar for hair cleansing, you might be curious about the proper method to apply it. The process is straight forward. First, thoroughly wet your hair. Next, either rub the shampoo bar directly onto your scalp and hair or create a lather in your hands before applying. After placing the bar aside, massage the lather into your hair and scalp to clean them effectively.
Some individuals prefer generating lather in their hands rather than applying the bar directly to their hair, as they find this method distributes the product more evenly.
Regardless of the application method, ensure to work the lather from the roots to the tips of your hair before thoroughly rinsing it out.
Additionally, it is advisable to follow up with an acidic rinse to facilitate your hair's adjustment to the natural ingredients found in the shampoo bars. This step helps to smooth the hair cuticle and enhance the hair's overall appearance and health. The choice between directly applying the bar or using the lather, as well as the decision to use an acidic rinse, ultimately depends on what you find most beneficial for your hair type and texture.
An apple cider rinse following the bar shampoo aids with manageability & leaves the hair soft & beautifully shiny & full. Apple cider vinegar removes build-up from the hair & restores a proper PH to the scalp.
To use this rinse: put 1-2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in a cup & add approximately 8oz of warm water from the shower. Rinse immediately or leave on the scalp while you finish your shower & then rinse out completely. You may smell the vinegar in the shower, but once your hair is dry, the vinegar smell will dissipate.
Hard water is full of minerals, specifically it has a high concentration of calcium and magnesium ions. In soft water, there are concentrations of sodium and potassium ions. The reaction between the hard water minerals and the shampoo bar (which is a pure soap—unlike the "soaps" or liquid shampoos you buy in the stores) causes the minerals to adhere to the soap molecules. This ends up "sticking" in your hair, and the only way to get it out is to wash with soft water and a gentle, natural, acid rinse—apple cider vinegar (inexpensive, has an odor when your hair is wet, but works great) or try lemon juice.
You can also use a clarifying shampoo, but we think the vinegar rinse works a lot better. We do not recommend the use of our shampoo bars for your hair if you have very hard water. However, you can still use them for your body.(To find shower head filters that can remove most of the minerals in your water, click HERE.)
Even if you have soft water, you may need to help restore the pH of your scalp periodically. An apple cider vinegar rinse does the trick and also serves to gently rinse out any build up on the hair shaft that might be caused by hair styling products.
Some people find that they may need a little conditioner in their hair at the ends to help with detangling. How often is using a rinse necessary? It depends on you and your hair, you may choose to do it once or twice a week as needed.
